Here are seven web visibility-boosting tips:
1. Put in the time to research what keywords make sense for your site, and build out a solid list to work from when you update your content.
2. Write titles and descriptions that are clear, factual and free of excessive superlatives (best, cheapest, biggest), and be sure to use your keywords in your page titles.
3.U se descriptive and informative text on each page of your website, choosing words that relate directly to your product, service or industry.
4. Highlight and feature your most important content first, in a clear, uncluttered fashion.
5.Ask other relevant sites to link to yours. One measure search engines now use to measure your site’s importance is which websites link to it.
6. If your geographic location is relevant, use it in the description. The more specific you are in the content on your page, the higher the relevance of your site for those niche phrases and locations.
7. Don’t expect search engines and online directories (such as About.com) to find you. Submit your site to them. While Google and other search engines are constantly scanning the web for new content, submitting your site to major directories can give them a hand in finding your site (and it adds some great links from those external websites as well!).
