Are You Using Articles The Wrong Way?

The secret is to have others publish YOUR articles.

From Scott Foster

You know those programs that take other people’s articles and put them on your site? I think you know which ones I’m talking about: the systems, the equalizers, etc.

If you’re using those systems to get traffic to your site, you are probably using articles BACKWARDS!

Now don’t get me wrong, there is still value in what those programs do, but if you’re ONLY using OTHER PEOPLE’S ARTICLES you are probably missing out on the real power of article marketing!

Let me give you a small example…

I often use articles as a means of building web content, which in turn provides the opportunity to get more pages in the search engines, earning more AdSense revenue, etc.

I typically get those articles from various free distribution sources, like article directories…

Let’s think for a moment about the authors who wrote those articles and submitted them to the article directories and various distribution sources.

During Eric’s testing he discovered a unique phenomenon and noticed that those authors receive a DOUBLE stream of traffic to their sites as a result of writing those articles.

Why a “double” stream?

The first stream comes from the articles themselves. Many of the articles contain the author’s URL within them, or at the very least, in their by-line at the end of the article. Some of these articles are being published by hundreds or even thousands of sites. As you can guess, those links bring a steady flow of traffic.

The second part of the doubled-edged sword is traffic from the search engines. This is because the search engines (particularly google), take into consideration “back links” to a page, when ranking it in the search results listings. Therefore, those pages with the articles linking to them can achieve a higher ranking.
