“It can get touchy, especially if they each have different organizing styles,” said Dallas author Lisa Kanarek, a professional organizer and author of Home Office Solutions (Quarry Books, 2004, $15.99) and 101 Home Office Success Secrets (Career Press, 2000, $12.99).

Shared home office space will become a bigger issue, since prognosticators predict the number of telecommuters will steadily increase during the next five years . Americans who performed any kind of work from home, from as little as one day a year to full time, grew to 44.4 million in 2004 from 41.3 million in 2003, a 7.5 percent increase, reports the International Telework Association & Council.
