Here’s an idea you may want to try if you’re looking for a product to sell.
Surf through ScriptLance.com, elance.com or other places where programmers bid on jobs.
You can often find software projects that make you go “Wow, I’d love to have that!”
You may want it for yourself, to sell a service to others, or to resell (if you won’t be making more competition for yoursel).
Find the person bidding on the software and check their profile.
Usually you can track down their website.
Then just ask them if they were happy with what they bought and if they’d like to recover some of their costs by selling it to you.
Many times they’re delighted to get their product cost rebated in whole or in part. (By seeing the bids, you know what they paid so you know if it’s a fair price.)
I tested this on one project and the guy who paid $800 was willing to sell it to me for $500 complete with installation on my domain because I wasn’t competing with him.
Similar web based services cost $70 PER MONTH.
Pretty good savings eh?
