I wonder if any of my readers are marketing regularly on Craigslist?
If so, I’d like you to leave a comment and tell me what is really working for you there?
To stay within their guidelines, you have to have different ads in every city where you make a post.
Some ads seem automatically bounced for including any html.
What’s been your experience?
Obviously, someone must have a potentially national audience with website sales ability to make this really worthwhile.
PostingTools.com has a Craigslist Auto Poster which costs $69.96 per month and allows you to post 250 ads (there are currently 115 US cities listed, so this means full US coverage.)
But if you’re making money hand over fist with Craigslist, you might want to have your own custom built Craigslist software - that goes for as little as $500.
You can run unlimited classified ads on USFreeAds.com for $10 per month and the site seems to get good coverage from Google (especially their featured ads). They’re much less “picky” than Craigslist and - depending on the niche - for $10 you might not need your own website to do well.
I’ll stop rambling.
I’d like to know what you’ve found though…

There is also this site that lets you create your own classifieds community by zip code.

I post hundreds of ads daily for myself and for customers. Most of what I do is geo-specific, so I don’t need a poster. But on occasion I have a client that needs to blast to all areas. There is a brand new product out call EasyAd. There is a program to post automatically, confirm automatically, and my favorite, a program that removes ANY ad from Craigslist. You can see them at www.EasyAdPoster.com What I like best about it was the fact it is not a monthly charge, just a low one time charge for an easy to use program.

Joe,
I’ve never posted an ad on Craigslist, but have been reading up on it and I like the looks of that semi-auto posting software you mentioned. However according to Chuck to stay within their guidelines you have to have different ads in every city where you make a post and that software from EasyAdPoster.com doesn’t appear to do that so would that not just get your IP addressed banned or just get all your ads removed?
Can Criagslist be used effectivly to build an Opt-in list for a health site?
Thanks,
Stephen

I thought craigslist was the way to go, I have been promoting for years on myspace. Just bought a program from a site www.myspacefriendbomber.com . They have a program that markets to millions. It does a great job adding friends to myspace.

I haven’t used any of the auto posters out there because the overwhelming consensus is that they just don’t work. Well, they may work but the vast majority get pulled or flagged before long.
There are simple strategies that you can use without using software.
I agree with the previous poster, usfreeads.com is a great way to go, especially if what you’re mostly interested is backlinks.
