If you haven’t visited The Mother Of All Bribe’s website, here’s the scoop.
First of all it’s a huge package of bribes to buy Mark Joyner’s new hard back book on Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.
But look closer and you’ll see it’s the outworking of a formula for something else.
In case you’re wondering, I did buy the book because it’s a book… not another ebook and it was under $20.
Whether I’ll download the Bribes is another question entirely.
But please do note the formula involved in this website… Why would the author do this?
1. There’s prestige and marketing clout in being an Amazon Best Seller. By focusing on promoting lots of sales in a focused time frame (the buyer must purchase the book today or thereafter) the odds of being listed if only briefly as a best seller increase dramatically.
2. Authors who can sell their books attract bigger and bigger publishers offering bigger and bigger perks. Otherwise, publishers print too many and they end up being written off (”remaindered”) and sold in those discount book stores. Publishers are increasingly cautious and only want to offer publishing contracts to proven performers.
3. If you’re a big author, you get the spin off income of consulting fees, paid speaking, etc.
4. In this case, Mark Joyner and Joe Vitale want to build their email lists as well.
So… money and prestige.
How much do all the bribes cost?
Nothing.
This is a classic online joint venture that attempts to create an “irresistable offer”.
The publishers donate a product/service combo and agree to promote to the offer to their in house lists.
Then people who download a particular author’s “bribe” get put on their in house list and offer the potential for revenue down the road.
So I can’t say exactly what I’ll read in Joyner’s new book on “Irresistable Offers” will actually tell me, but I think you can see an example of its content at work in The Mother of All Bribes website.
