PoliceAuctions.com is a membership site that lets you track pending government auctions and, if you’re the high or only bidder, find some “steals” to resell.
I’ve just became aware of the site, but they seem to have a lot of content if reselling chattel (personal property) is your bag.
A friend of mine had a father in law went to a local sheriff’s auction.
He bought two used “investigator’s cars” for $2,000 each, spiffed them up a bit and resold them for $4,000 each in a few weeks.
So lots of merchandise is available if you don’t get involved in a bidding war.
An old college professor used to go to agricultural auctions and was so well known to the auctioneers that if they had leftovers they’d sell it to him for a quarter to get rid of it.
Get that well known and you can have your own personal junk yard too! Hopefully you’ll sell more and NOT have the junk yard.
How current is the Auction Information?
The site is updated on a daily basis. Our editorial staff is dedicated to bringing you Government and Non-government auction information as soon as it is available. What types of auctions do you cover?
We cover both Government and Non-Goverment Auctions. On the government side, we cover all types of seized, surplus, and unclaimed property. Government Auctions are listed by Goverment agency, for example, DEA, TREASURY, IRS, Customs, State Surplus, County Tax lien, Police Auction, etc.On the non-goverment side, we categorize auctions by categories such as antiques, collectibles, autos, etc.
Can I bid online?
Some of the goverment auctions listed do allow for online bidding. The vast majority of them are live auctions that you have to attend.
