Karen Deis is a home based entrepreneur herself.
When she entered the mortgage origination business, she quickly learned that she couldn’t keep doing things the same way as other mortgage originators and still have the income she wanted.
She soon found that a seemingly limitless pool of mortgage originators was courting a relatively small number of real estate agents.
It’s the only way they knew to find prospects for their mortgages.
Karen found the way out of insignificance and shoddy profits was to find ways to market directly to consumers so that when they were ready for what she offered, she’d be the only mortgage originator they’d think of.
Her discoveries are easily applicable to many other fields: network marketing (PrePaid Legal and Ameriplan for example), insurance (life, supplemental health products) , and potentially many other sales fields.
In subsequent posts, we’ll look at how she accomplished the task of separating herself from the “herd”.
Does this apply to your business?
