A recent Computerworld article noted that employees given laptops log an extra 7 hours of work per week more than employees assigned to desktop computers.
They become “work at home” employees whether it’s company policy or not.
Evidently the proximity of work and the computer blurs the boundaries of work and leisure.
This is good for the companies as productivity rises, but can be bard on the family and – if the worker is salaried – decrease their compensation when viewed in hourly terms.

Yes very true, work at home can be more useful to the company, if I have the opportunity to have laptop, i would love to extend my working hours whenever I want.
